M/Y Whisper" was a new build
that had gone wrong and needed drastic action to bring her to yacht
standard. The work list included gutting and rebuilding the engine room, new
propellors, modifying the steering gear, cutting off and rebuilding the swim
platform and aft sections of the hull, a new redesigned galley and many other
modifications. |

Our goal for "M/Y Obrigado"
was to upgrade various systems, complete her Lloyds classification and get her through the
Australian NSCV survey so as to be able to operate as a commecial charter vessel in
Australia. |

"Espiritu Santo"
has been very well maintained though out her life, our goals in this refit
were to upgrade several systems and to utilize new techniques to improve
the overall usability of the vessel. As well as the usual annual
maintenance tasks. We had 10 weeks from arriving at the shipyard
before the owner wished to use the yacht again. |

As is normal in
the life of a yacht there are refits, over the last year "Shana" has done
some 10 000 miles. It has also been several years since a coat of paint
and despite Ricardo's best efforts she is starting to look a little shabby
so we are going to have a bit of a cosmetic refit, along with a few other
maintenance tasks. We arrived in San Diego on 2nd April 2007 and
immediately hauled out at Knight and Carver to begin a 3 month intensive
refit. |
